2. History
Bangabandhu Bhaban was the personal residence of the founding father of
natioin and President of Bangladesh. Sheikh Mujib was killed along with most of his family in
the residence, and today it is a museum. On 15 August 1975, some disgruntled Army officers
carried out the Assassination of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. His wife Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib,
his sons Sheikh Kamal, Sheikh Jamal, Sheikh Russel were killed in the attack on their
residence.On 12 June 1981, the house was handed over to the surviving family members of
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Sheikh Hasina found Sheikh Mujibs diaries in the building. The
house has been transformed into the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum. Bangabandhu Memorial
Trust was handed the house to turn into a museum on 6 September 1994. The trust operates the
museum.
4. Tourist arrival
Everyday many people visit this place. Around 2000 people has visited over there.
Employment:
There are around 75 employees are currently maintaining the Bangabandhu Memorial
Museum. They are Curator, Deputy curator, office employee, security guards,
computer operators, cashier, & housekeepers.

5 (Five) Taka / Person.

Social Contribution:
Its government sole property. So it don’t contribute for any social cause.
6. Development
DMO:
Former education secretary Md. Nazrul Islam Khan (N I Khan) has been made
curator of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Memorial
Museum.
Kazi Arifin Jahan is Deputy curator of father of the nation Bangabandhu sheikh
mujibur rahman memorial museum.
Tourism related any NGO
There is no NGO related to the museum.
How Gathering done
The house where Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman
lived in and from where he had proclaimed the independence of Bangladesh, so
people came to visit this place. Otherwise facebook ,website also available.
7. Future plan
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gave the responsibility to N I Khan t
o maintain and develop the museum.
N I Khan said: he will put his best endeavor to perform the responsibility given to
him and spread the ideology and works of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu at
home and abroad.
“I will try to make use of the experiences I have gathered visiting most of the best
museums of the world,”
Funding
Ministry of Cultural Affair give the fund and current PM (Sheikh Hasina)
personally give fund to develop and maintain the museum.
