A toddler was attacked by hyenas on Thursday afternoon at Bangladesh National Zoo in Dhaka’s Mirpur as he visited there with his family.

The two-year-old Saif Hasan is from Rangpur.

The boy’s right hand accidentally went into the cage of hyenas that attacked the kid and took way the right hand from elbow by biting, said the police.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police Darussalam zone assistant commissioner Mofizur Rahman Polash said that the kid was rushed to the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedlc Rehabilitation immediately.

Seven members of the family went to visit the zoo in the afternoon. The boy was in his mother’s lap.

Police visited the zoo immediately and filed a general dairy with Shah Ali police station.

No zoo official was available for comments over the incident.

The case accommodating hyenas is seven feet in height and is surrounded by net.
