Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Memorial Museum, Dhaka and National Museum, New Delhi have signed a memorandum of understanding on Thursday, said a press release.

The signing ceremony was held at the state guest house Padma. Bangabandhu Memorial Museum curator Nazrul Islam Khan and additional director general of National Museum, New Delhi, Subrata Nath signed the MoU.

Agriculture minister Mohammad Abdur Razzaque, state minister for cultural affairs KM Khalid, India’s high commissioner to Bangladesh Vikram Doraiswami, foreign secretary Masud Bin Momen, secretary of cultural affairs ministry Badrul Arefin and others were present at the signing ceremony.

The museums will share knowledge regarding the conservation of fabrics, curation of exhibits and training under the agreement that eyes an expansion of the existing cultural cooperation between the two countries.

The MoU was signed ahead of the virtual summit between Bangladesh’s prime minister Sheikh Hasina and Indian prime minister Narendra Modi on Thursday.  A total of seven agreements and MoUs were signed between Bangladesh and India in different fields.
