Five Taka of Bangladesh

This five Taka banknote of Bangladesh was issued in 2014, taka is the 'tad bhava' word derived from the word ‘Tanka’. The trace of this denomination is described in the travel account of Ibn Battuta has he noticed the people of Bengal sultana referred the gold and silver coins as Tankas. The modern monetary system exists in Bangladesh since 1947. After the liberation of Bangladesh, it had its currency system developed.Bangladesh introduces its first Treasury notes in 1972. The polymer note was introduced in 2000 by the Government of Bangladesh. In 2011 Bangladesh introduced a banknote to celebrate its ‘40th birth anniversary’.
The above-shown note is one of the latest issued currencies of the country. The obverse of this note illustrates the legend ‘Bangladesh Bank’ in Bengali script on top of the centre as well in English at left side. Promise text is depicted at upper as a middle centre and signatory at the centre of the bottom. Prefix and serial number at the bottom left and upper right. Numerical denomination in Bengali script at upper left and bottom right corner and English at top right corner. The denomination is inscribed in words in Bengali script at upper centre.
The reveres of this note depicts the legend‘Bangladesh Bank’ on top of the centre and in Bengali script at the bottom centre. The logo of Bangladesh bank is seen at top right and year of issue below it. The image of Choto Shona Mosque is seen at right with its name printed below. The numerical denomination is printed in Bengali script at the top left and in English at the bottom right. The denomination is inscribed in words on the right side.
